McSheplets prompt: Promise

There's a mcsheplets comm on this site, but it doesn't seem as up-to-date as the livejournal one. So I thought I'd crosspost, because I hate the idea of everyone ignoring that wonderful comm.

The McSheplets challenge this week:

Challenge #295 is:

Promise

How much can you trust someone's word? Do the natives tell the truth if they promise the team has nothing to fear? Does the SGC when it says Atlantis will return home soon? What are things that John or Rodney promise each other or themselves? And when are promises broken?
