There's so much to love about this fic. A little gritty with the space swashbuckling and a touch of hard living, but all the characters are so authentically themselves! This bit particularly makes me snicker:

“Were you born the most irritating man in the universe or did you have to work up to it?”

“Neither. I got it by popular vote.”

I really love - well, normally they're called "space au", but our show is already set in space...either way, I really love space au's, so I really enjoyed this. I'm glad you did too :D
